Third Reich Germany was the world leader in television technology, and the pioneer in bringing this new medium to the public. This video disc provides a rare and fascinating look at German television in the years before the outbreak of war. With enlightening narration, it includes many clips from actual German television broadcasts from 1934 through 1939, with English-language subtitles. These clips include the first German television broadcast in 1934, and the premiere of the world’s first regularly scheduled television broadcast, on March 22, 1935, from Berlin, as well as scenes from the 1936 Olympic Games, which many saw from public viewing centers around the country.
